Kenny Shanker
Alto saxophonist Kenny Shanker brings his bright tone, melodic sensibility, and compositional flair to the forefront on his Posi-Tone releases Action City (2014) and Steppin’ Up (2011). Shanker’s compositional talents were recognized with an ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award in 2003 for his piece “Saints.” He also contributed music to the 2009 film Out of the Fog. Over his career, he has performed with a wide range of artists, including the New World Symphony, the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, Richard Bona, David Benoit, and Shelly Berg.
